For 1 out of 3 men gender diversity not important
Updated: Sep 26, 2019

A recent poll by Business Insider partner MSN revealed: "Almost one in three men (31%) in MSN's poll said gender diversity at work was 'not important at all.' Women aren't far behind on that notion, with about one in four (24%) saying the same."
As a Diversity & Inclusion professional, those numbers worry me. It means that when I approach a group of individuals to talk about implicit bias or diversity strategy almost a third of the men and a fourth of the women have already made up their minds that gender diversity isn't important.
This poll (although not scientifically done) does seem to indicate that diversity has a perception problem, and a pluralistic culture is still not fully welcome by all.
